All About Screen Printing and Laser Engraving

Adding your text, logos, images, or designs to any of our pieces, is simple!  We offer two different methods, screen printing or laser engraving.   Below, you will find examples of each, pricing, and how to get us the artwork that you would like on your piece(s).

Screen printing is simply the process of applying paint to the surface of the acrylic. Special paints are used to create a strong bond between the paint and the acrylic. Since paints are usually mixed to get the proper color(s) desired, virtually any color can be easily achieved.  We offer Pantone color matching if you need a specific color at no extra charge. Screen printing is cost effective on large runs. However, each individual color in a logo or design is screened separately. This means that if there are 5 different colors in a logo, the process technically requires 5 different set-ups, one for each color.

Laser engraving (lasering) is the process of marking the surface of the acrylic or engraving plate using a laser. The lasering has different effects depending upon the material being engraved. Clear, cast acrylic lasers white, black acrylic lasers grayish/white, and jade acrylic lasers white with a tint of green (almost as if being back-lit by a light source). Laser engraving can be color-filled with special paint if desired. It can also be used for a 3-dimensional effect in acrylic with logos or images. However, the deeper the engraving, the larger number of complete passes the laser must perform on the piece being engraved.

The above chart is reflective of most screen printing orders, including if there are simple changes to each piece, such as different places (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) Occasionally, there may be exceptions. For example, if you have 50 pieces that each need to be screened completely different.

  • Please note: There is a $35.00 screen set-up charge on all orders, large or small. This is necessary to create the screen for your printing job.

    The above pricing chart reflects the average time needed to laser engrave most pieces. Occasionally, if the pieces are smaller or if the needed text/logo doesn't require as much time to laser, we can decrease the price accordingly.


    Get the look of real brass or aluminum with laser-cuttable Rowmark engraving plates. Rounded/radius corners are standard on all plates. Lasering appears as black.
